The purpose of this breast imaging course is to become more confident in reporting breast MRI and learn the techniques and main indications. This radiology course will provide you with knowledge that can help you address your ongoing clinical challenges, as well as future pursuits.

Description

This breast MRI fellowship covers basic and advanced breast MRI techniques accompanied by relevant lectures, individual case readings and group case discussions. Training includes an overview of the main indications for use in clinical practice to perform breast MRI; implementation and reporting; applications from cancer diagnosis through surveillance and response assessment to restaging.
Structured reporting templates will be used to help you navigate and write high-quality reports.

At the end of the programme, you will be able to create your MRI protocol in clinical practice and follow the correct indications. You will also be able to do reports on common pathologies observed in daily practice, including interventional.

Participation in this fellowship (10 radiologists maximum) ensures a personal learning environment where you will enhance and strengthen your own and each other’s knowledge. In this small group environment among your peers, you are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn together with the support of the radiologist mentor.

This CME fellowship is organised by TMC Academy, an EACCME Trusted Provider.


Enjoy Your Stay In Barcelona

The fellowship will run during working hours (approximately 9:00 to 5:00 pm) so you will be free to explore the beautiful city of Barcelona in the evenings and weekend should you choose to extend your stay.

Level III - Subspecialisation training

This breast imaging fellowship is geared toward Breast Radiologists (Level III) with basic experience in MRI. However, in a small group with plenty of one-on-one time with the radiologist mentor, there will be some flexibility within the program for each participant.

Federica Pediconi M.D. Ph.D.
Italy, Rome
Prof. Pediconi did her medical and residency school at “Sapienza” University of Rome, where is currently Associate Professor of Radiology and where she spent her professional career. She has been in charge of the Breast Imaging Unit of the Department of Radiological Sciences, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, as Professor since 2004, and leads an enthusiastic and productive team of academic breast imagers. Since March 2011 she is the chairperson of the of Educational Committee of the EUSOBI (European Society of Breast Imaging) and in the educational committee of the ESR for three years (European Society of Radiology). She also served the ESR for the breast scientific sub-committee for more than 3 years and as a Chairperson of the Breast sub-committee in 2017. She was the chairperson of the European Diploma in Breast Imaging from 2010 to 2018, and is still supporting the EDBI as an examiner or observer. Therefore, she also holds the title “EBBI (European Board of Breast Imaging)”. Since 2012 she is also in the executive board of SIRM (Italian Society of Radiology) breast Section, and she currently is President of the Breast Section of SIRM (Italian Society of Radiology). She has been coordinator or co-organizer of more than 180 congress and invited speakers of more than 230 National and International events. She is the Director of the Breast MRI course of EUSOBI since 2010. She presented more than 360 abstracts at National and International congresses and published about 84 papers and books. Her clinical activities are mainly focused on breast imaging, comprised interventional, and MRI.
