The purpose of the fellowship is to learn about MSK different topics through a daily structure based on multiple lectures, daily reporting from individual work stations on specific cases with subsequent group discussion. The program is flexible and can be adapted upon the participants’ needs and requests up to four weeks before the fellowship starts.
A successful fellowship has provided you with knowledge that can help you address your ongoing clinical challenges, as well as future pursuits.
The MSK fellowship that TMC academy offers includes an overview of the most common joints in practice with a daily exam, presentation, individual case readings from the TMC academy teaching file with quiz and reading together. Standard templates of the reports are used to help you navigate and write adequate reports. Tailored programs can be offered if requested well in advance.
Participation in this fellowship will enhance and strengthen your knowledge in musculoskeletal MRI reading.
At the end of the program you will be able to identify and report on common pathology in sport injuries and daily practice.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Upgrade your knowledge by immersion in a learning environment without distraction of daily practice
• Become familiar and feel confident with basic and advanced MSK pathology as encountered in daily practice
• Discriminate common variants from pathology
• Learn to construct an adequate report through structured reporting
PROGRAMME WILL INCLUDE
• Lectures on common pathology of the knee, shoulder, wrist, ankle and hip and other common benign pathology with quiz cases
• Individual reporting on provided cases with supervision of Mentor
• Group case discussion of the reported cases
• Daily examination with answers
Consultant radiologist at TMC
Maria Wienk is a consultant radiologist who graduated from the Free University in Amsterdam where she also completed her radiology training in 1996. With more than 20 years’ experience in radiology Dr. Wienk started to work for TMC in Barcelona in 2015 as subspecialized MSK radiologist with emphasis on sport-related injuries. She is an active mentor for the TMC-academy.

Participant cancellations
For cancellations made up until 6 weeks prior to the course, the participant will be fully reimbursed.
For cancellations made after 6 weeks, TMC Academy offers flexible transfer of paid registration fees, meaning that in the unfortunate event that an attendee cannot make it to Barcelona (for Covid-19 related reasons or other), they may simply transfer their credit to the next session (or to any combination of TMCA training programme(s) or subscriptions equivalent to the same price). Please note that this flexible transfer option is available until 1 day prior to the course.
TMC Cancellation
In the unlikely event that TMC Academy must cancel the fellowship (for Covid-19, force majeure, or other reasons), registrants will be offered the option of flexible transfer or full reimbursement.
TMC Academy will not be responsible for travel or accommodation affected by cancellation by either party. We recommend attendees to book flexible travel whenever possible.
