General Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship
This 5-day musculoskeletal imaging fellowship with emphasis on MRI, taught by knowledgeable radiologist Sandro Galea-Soler, will include an overview of MRI of the extremities with a daily presentation, individual case readings, and group-based case read-outs.

Description

Improve diagnostic accuracy and your confidence in assessing MSK studies with this case-based interactive short-term fellowship.
Topics cover: MRI Shoulder Impingement Syndromes, Rotator Cuff, Athletic Pubalgia and other Pelvic MSK Disorders, Shoulder Labrum, Instability and Biceps, Knee Ligaments and Associated Osteochondral injuries, Knee Anterior dysplasia and instability, MRI of the Elbow, Wrist and Hand, Hip, Thigh, Ankle, and Foot.

Participation in this fellowship, limited to a maximum of 10 radiologists, will enhance and strengthen your knowledge in musculoskeletal radiology. In this small group environment among your peers, you are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn together with the support of Dr. Galea-Soler. It will provide you with knowledge that can help you address your ongoing clinical challenges, as well as future pursuits.


Accreditation and CME Certificate

This radiology mini-fellowship is organised by TMC Academy, an EACCME Trusted Provider. An application has been made to the UEMS/EBR for CME accreditation for this radiology training. CME Certificate will be available to download upon completion.

Learning Objectives
  • To describe the normal anatomy of the appendicular skeleton including joints
  • To be familiar with some normal regional variants that mimic disease
  • To understand common imaging presentations of trauma to the appendicular skeleton
  • To understand the imaging presentation of stress-related injuries of the appendicular skeleton and to appreciate their clinical relevance
  • To offer strategies to generate an organized reproducible comprehensive radiology report that satisfies the needs of the referring physician

  • Lectures covering a variety of topics relevant to general MSK MRI
  • Individual reporting on selected cases
  • Group case discussion
  • Workstations provided by TMC for the training week
  • Access to all course materials via TMC Academy radiology training platform, including discussed cases

Level
Level II - General radiologist

This is an intermediate-level MSK training geared toward general radiologists (Level II). However, in a small group with plenty of one-on-one time with the radiologist mentor, there will be some flexibility within the programme for each participant.

Sandro Galea-Soler M.D.

Dr. Sandro Galea-Soler underwent general radiology training in Aberdeen, Scotland, followed by two fellowships in diagnostic emergency (Vancouver, Canada) and musculoskeletal (Bradford, England) radiology. He has been working as a consultant radiologist for the last 14 years. He has been collaborating with the TMC academy for many years, having delivered lectures at the Musculoskeletal MRI course in Barcelona on three consecutive occasions (2014-16), as well as six on-site 5-day long MSK MRI fellowships between 2018 and 2023.
