Description

This head and neck radiology fellowship aims to guide radiologists and head and neck surgeons to become more confident in reading head and neck cancer studies.

The training will cover all essential topics related to head and neck cancer imaging and will include basic and slightly more advanced knowledge to report. The online course will cover cancers in nasopharynx, oropharynx, oral cavity, hypopharynx and larynx.

Lectures on relevant anatomy, MR and CT technique, tumour staging and follow-up (post-treatment and surveillance) will be followed by individual case readings.

The participants will review the images first by themselves and then together with the mentor and the group. The goal is to create a “reading roam experience”, mimicking the daily work and head and neck fellowship environment. Each day ends with a common reading session of the cases with interaction and discussion with the participants and the mentor.

At the end of this course you will be able to image and identify, stage and report head and neck cancer studies.

TMC Academy radiology online courses are held in a virtual classroom on Zoom. Participants are encouraged to engage in discussions using their camera and microphone to recreate the face-to-face experience. In these small groups, all questions can be asked, you can make mistakes, and learn from each other with the support of the radiologist mentor.

Accreditation and CME Certificate

This radiology fellowship is organised by TMC Academy, an EACCME Trusted Provider. An application has been made to the UEMS/EBR for CME accreditation for this radiology training. CME Certificate will be available to download upon completion.

Learning objectives

  • Upgrade your knowledge in Head and Neck cancer imaging by immersion in a learning environment simulating daily reading roam activity but free of the distraction of daily practice
  • Learn how to optimize CT and MR studies in Head and Cancer patients and become familiar with important anatomical structures influencing tumor spread/behavior
  • Master basic and advanced Head and Neck cancer staging and follow up
  • To understand the clinical questions that need to be addressed and how to report them

Programme will include

  • Lectures related to Head and Neck cancer imaging of the nasopharynx, oropharynx, oral cavity, hypopharynx and larynx, covering related anatomy, CT, PET-CT and MR technique, cancer staging and follow-up,
  • Individual case reading and interpretation on provided cases
  • Group case discussion of the selected clinical cases
  • Plenty of time for Q&A with Prof. Casselman
  • Lifetime access to presentation slides, session recordings, and other course materials
  • Access to discussed cases after the fellowship
  • Your own personal dashboard and course materials on the TMC ACADEMY radiology training platform
  • Certificate of attendance. An application has been made to the UEMS/EBR for CME accreditation for this radiology training.
