Description

Este fellowship cubrirá temas específicos que son relativamente frecuentes en nuestra práctica diaria, y en los cuales el papel de la imagen desempeña un papel esencial no solo en el diagnóstico sino también en el manejo de los pacientes.
Los temas seleccionados se presentarán primero en un formato de conferencia, seguido de casos representativos mezclados con otros casos clínicos; los participantes revisarán las imágenes, primero por sí mismos, y luego junto con el mentor y el grupo.


Learning objectives

  • Familiarizarse con la topografía y los patrones de los infartos cerebrales y comprender el papel de la estudios radiológicos para sugerir su mecanismo causal más probable.
  • Familiarizarse con las diferentes escalas que se utilizan comúnmente en la práctica clínica para definir los cambios cerebrales estructurales dentro del envejecimiento normal y en los trastornos neurodegenerativos más comunes.
  • Comprender la fisiología del LCR y familiarizarse con la fisiopatología y las características radiológicas de la hidrocefalia

Programme will include

  • Conferencias sobre: "Topografía y mecanismo del infarto cerebral", "Fisiología del LCR e hidrocefalia", "Evaluación semicuantitativa de los estudios de RM cerebral en el envejecimiento y en las enfermedades neurodegenerativas"
  • Informes radiológicos individuales con supervisión de mentor.
  • Discusión grupal de los casos clínicos.

Este fellowship está diseñado para radiólogos generales con cierta experiencia en informar casos de neurorradiología o que deseen profundizar sus conocimientos neurorradiológicos. Se requieren algunos conocimientos básicos sobre las técnicas de resonancia magnética cerebral y sobre su interpretación.

    Head of the Neuroradiology Section in the Radiology Department of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (Barcelona, ​​Spain). Professor of Radiology and Neuroimmunology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Spain.

    Dr. Àlex Rovira is a full time neuroradiologist, who obtained his degree in 1983 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. After his training in radiology at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (Barcelona), he held a fellowship at the Shands Hospital (Gainesville, University of Florida) in 1989. He specialises in diagnostic neuroradiology and head and neck radiology, with special interest in demyelinating diseases, stroke, neuro-oncology, hepatic encephalopathy and head and neck tumors. He received the European Qualification in Neuroradiology (issued by the European Board of Neuroradiology) in 2007. Outgoing President of the European Society of Neuroradiology and member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Society of Radiology, the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies, and the MAGNIMS ( European Multicenter Collaborative Research Network in MRI in MS). He is a member of the editorial committees of the American Journal of Neuroradiology, Neuroradiology and MS Forum, and a member of the International Advisory Board on Clinical Trials in MS. Dr. Rovira is the author or co-author of more than 320 original articles, 25 review articles, 25 book chapters or monographs, and more than 400 presentations at national and international conferences.

Cancellation Policy

Participant cancellation
For cancellations made up until 6 weeks prior to the course, the participant will be fully reimbursed.

For cancellations made after 6 weeks, TMC Academy offers a flexible transfer of paid registration fees, meaning that in the unfortunate event that an attendee cannot make it to Barcelona (for Covid-19 related reasons or other), they may simply transfer their credit to the next session (or to any combination of TMCA training programme(s) or subscriptions equivalent to the same price). Please note that this flexible transfer option is available until 1 day prior to the course.

Mentor/TMC cancellation

Considering the possibility of unforeseen circumstances leading to the cancellation of the training such as Covid-19, force majeure, or any other unforeseen events, registrants will have the option of flexible transfer or receiving a full reimbursement of the registration fee.
