Description

This Image Reporting Module is aimed at radiologists, oncologists and other specialists who are interested in boosting their clinical competences in the interpretation and identification of different patterns from oesophageal-gastric cancer MRI cases. The module consists of 5 interesting real cases related to the topic, carefully prepared by Dr. Juan Carlos Quintero.

The simulator enables participants to practise in a real environment which replicates the work of specialists who work with diagnostic imaging techniques. It is a "learning by doing" learning environment which helps users to learn from both their mistakes and correct answers when interpreting the images; once each case has been completed, the user will receive the answers immediately, with comments both on the structured report and on the images in order to reinforce the entire learning process.

By achieving 66% correct answers in each module, you will receive 2 CME credits from EACCME.


Learning objectives

  • Learn to perform a methodological and standardised reading of the CT and MRI scan images for oesophageal-gastric cancer.
  • Recognise the imaging date and assess the staging of oesophageal-gastric cancer.
  • Learn to identify the relevant local anatomy in order to adequately simulate and plan the radiation therapy for oesophageal-gastric cancer.

    Dr. Quintero was born in Badalona, Spain. After his university studies at the Central University of Barcelona, he specialized in Radiodiagnosis via MIR (1995-1998) at Hospital Prínceps d ’Espanya (Hospitalet de Llobregat). Special dedication in the Abdomen and Emergency Areas. 4 chapters of radiology books published, 15 national / international publications. Participation in numerous oral and electronic communications in regional, national and international conferences. Collaboration in teaching of Radiodiagnosis MIR and other specialties since 1999 Member of various national and European scientific societies: SERAM, SEDIA, SEUR, SEUS, ACRAM, SGR and ESR. Collaboration in various clinical trials within the framework of Oncology.
