    Specialist in Pulmonary Pathology and Cytopathology. Head of the Pathology Section at Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge. In 1996 she graduated in Medicine from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, specialising in Pathological Anatomy. In 2007 he obtained his PhD in Medicine from the UAB. He continued his training at the Anatomical Pathology Department of the Hospital del Mar, Barcelona. She is currently part of the Anatomical Pathology Department of the Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. Specialised in the diagnosis and molecular study of biomarkers in lung cancer, she is one of the world leaders in the field of pathological anatomy, according to the British reference journal in this field, The Pathologist. Dr. Lara Pijuan is a true leader in the community of pathologists in social networks for the good use of networks in education, dissemination and building a community of pathologists. She is currently a trainer in the interpretation of biomarkers in lung cancer, interested in immuno-oncology. Coordinator of the SEAP Digital Pathology Working Group. President of the Catalan Society of Cytopathology.
