Description

The imaging modalities will include radiographs, US, DECT, Dixon imaging and multiparametric MRI (DWI and perfusion MRI).

The learners will gain knowledge of both basic and advanced imaging features of the benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors, soft tissue and bone lesions mimicking neoplasia, with common and uncommon presenting and differentiating examples.

Participation in this MSK fellowship, limited to a maximum of 10 radiologists, will enhance and strengthen your knowledge in Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors. In this small group environment among your peers, you are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn together with the support of Dr. Chhabra. A successful fellowship will provide you with knowledge that can help you address your ongoing clinical challenges, as well as future pursuits.

The fellowship will run during working hours (approximately 9 to 5 pm) so you will be free to explore the beautiful city of Barcelona in the evenings and weekend should you choose to extend your stay.

This radiology mini fellowship is organised by TMC Academy, a European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) Trusted Provider.

Learning objectives

  • Gain knowledge of basic and advanced imaging techniques for assessment of musculoskeletal tumor conditions.
  • Learn common and uncommon differentiating imaging features of various types of soft tissue and bone tumours.
  • Learn the role of DECT, colour doppler, T1 and T2 Dixon, DWI and perfusion imaging in musculoskeletal tumor assessment.
  • Gain knowledge of the role of radiologist in multidisciplinary care in musculoskeletal oncology and oncologic surgery.

Programme will include

  • General overview of imaging modalities and their use case scenarios for musculoskeletal tumor assessment.
  • Didactic sessions on basic and advanced imaging modality diagnostic features of various musculoskeletal soft tissue and
  • bone tumors.
  • Structured and interactive case readings on common and uncommon manifestations of various bone and soft tissue tumours and incidentalomas.
  • Introduction and discussion of structured reporting of bone and soft tissue tumors including how to classify and dictate management of these lesions using RADS systems- ST-RADS and OT-RADS.
  • Plenty of time for Q&A with the radiologist mentor
  • Access to discussed cases before and after the fellowship
  • Certificate of attendance - An application has been made to the UEMS/EBR for CME accreditation of this event.

Level

Level II - General radiologist
This is an intermediate level MSK training geared toward general radiologists (Level II). However, in a small group with plenty of one-on-one time with the radiologist mentor, there will be some flexibility within the programme for each participant.

  • Avneesh Chhabra M.D. MBA. FACR
    Dallas (TX), United States of America

    He is a Professor of Radiology and Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also the director of Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is double boarded in Radiology residency and fellowship trained in musculoskeletal radiology with Exe. MBA in healthcare leadership and management. He is a fellow of American college of Radiology and serves as a counselor of Texas Radiological Society. He is also Soft tissue RADS chair for American college of Radiology. Clinical interests: Dr Chhabra’s clinical expertise and his interests include magnetic resonance neurography (MRN), sports imaging, rheumatology and sarcoma imaging, and related image-guided interventions. Dr. Chhabra actively runs a patient care clinic at UT Southwestern Medical center and translates his research into clinical practices by deploying novel MRN techniques to map peripheral neuropathy in patients preparing for surgery, and to direct perineural nerve injections in patients with neuropathies. Dr. Chhabra serves as a committee member on national and international societies. Dr. Chhabra is frequently invited to lecture nationally and internationally at conferences, webinars, and venues throughout the United States and around the world, including presenting the keynote addresses to the American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America, Ontario association of Radiologists, Chinese, Korean, South American and Gulf MSK societies, and the Tummala Madhusudana Rao Endowment Oration to the Asian Musculoskeletal Society. He also received many scholarly awards, including the SSR young investigator award, GERRAF fellow, the Stephen B. Milam Award, Tummula oration, D- magazine top Doc award, and the ISS mentorship recognition award. He has authored more than 370 peer-reviewed publications, two textbooks and 32 book chapters. He has crafted and published OT-RADS, ST-RADS, and NS-RADS. Dr. Chhabra is on multiple editorial boards, e.g. The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Journal of computed assisted tomography, European Radiology, and BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders including deputy Editor of European Radiology. Cancellation Policy

Participant cancellation
For cancellations made up until 6 weeks prior to the course, the participant will be fully reimbursed.

For cancellations made after 6 weeks, TMC Academy offers a flexible transfer of paid registration fees, meaning that in the unfortunate event that an attendee cannot make it to Barcelona (for Covid-19 related reasons or other), they may simply transfer their credit to the next session (or to any combination of TMCA training programme(s) or subscriptions equivalent to the same price). Please note that this flexible transfer option is available until 1 day prior to the course.

Mentor/TMC cancellation

Considering the possibility of unforeseen circumstances leading to the cancellation of the training such as Covid-19, force majeure, or any other unforeseen events, registrants will have the option of flexible transfer or receiving a full reimbursement of the registration fee.
